    Shit just got real

    Greetings Gnarlysquad members!

I am your assigned writefriend, Steve. I'm going to be starting our grand adventure soon (despite our glaring absence of an artist) and I'd like some input from you folks before i start fucking you all up and upsetting people.

    - Has the team known each other beforehand or is this the story of our origin / first meeting?

    - Do we all want one event to have spurred our abilities? I'm fine with individual origins as well

    - The first couple stories will star each member individually, so give me an outline of an average activity in your everyday life and we'll jazz it up like your gramma in a flapper gown

The only real thing in my everyday life of note is that I'm a cook by trade and I hate fish.

    Good to see you back.

I wrote up a quick intro to my character and posted it here on the forums. Anna/Seraph's deal (or at least what I wanted to highlight with the story) is that while she can kick evil's ass pretty handily with her God Hand, she doesn't like to use it to its full extent often because it's exhausting mentally and physically.

I don't really care how you want to set up the origin story, whether it be a larger meta-origin, or separate stories. We were discussing settings last night, and I think we've come to the conclusion that each team should have free reign to come up with their own ideas for background, and then we can see where to go from there after they've developed separately.

I did have an idea for an individual origin for my character that would factor into her background though. Since she's just a graduate research student in religious studies/whatever, should could be reading some big ancient text late at night, something happens and BAM you've been blessed with the ancient art of Beating the Shit Out Of Evil.

Hey, actually, that would work for creating a team too. Anna could work at the restaurant where The Cook is, and then when they start investigating weird stuff going down in the city, Cook could say "Oh hey I know this one chick who knows all about this kind of shit", and then she gets introduced to other members through that.

(If that sounds bad or you want to adjust it to fit another idea, I don't mind, I'm just spitballing here. )

Spitball away, gurl. As I have it planned so far, I'm setting up a short, introductory story for each member of GNARLYSQUAD and I'm starting off with myself because I'm a selfish twat like that. They'll all end up congregating together.

I like the idea of your Godhand powers literally exploding out of nowhere as you read some ancient text and having it scare you shitless. Any preferred diety or culture you wanna have it come from?

My own personal knowledge is more with Judeo-Christian tradition, so that's what I was basing it off of (if you couldn't tell with the hero name I went with). study
